It has been months of speculations whether former Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl, 33, is pregnant. She has been dating One Direction’s Liam Payne, 23, since late 2015, after she separated from her now ex-husband of two years Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
The first rumours about her pregnancy emerged in September, after the One
Direction star changed his Twitter bio “the luckiest man in the world”, and later on in the month Cheryl’s mum Joan Callaghan was spotted buying baby goods. Cheryl then made an appearance at the L’Oreal Gold Obsession Party in Paris Fashion Week in early October, which boosted the rumours. She was posing for pictures showing of her healthy, fuller figure that was far away from her worryingly slim frame just few months before.
The couple arrived all smiles to the Fayre of St James Christmas Carol Concert on Tuesday.
The starlet is yet to officially confirm that she is in fact pregnant. But as she stepped out in London on Tuesday night to attend the Fayre of St James Christmas Carol Concert, wearing a skin-tight khaki dress, it seemed that this was her way of ending the months of speculations. She paired the olive knee-length ribbed Alexander Wang dress with a black overcoat and tight-high leather boots, flowing checked scarf and a black studded clutch. But the stylish ensemble was not quite enough to hide her growing belly.
According to The Sun’s Dan Wootton, the reasons behind Cheryl maintaining her silence of all this time are personal that had not been made public. He spoke up on Wednesday’s Lorraine: “Cheryl’s told close friends and family. I think everyone knows the battles she’s gone through in her personal life, the fact she so desperately wanted this for so many years, and it didn’t come. She’s totally ecstatic, happy… apparently she’s been very open with friends and family.”
Cheryl first married LA Galaxy footballer Ashley Cole in 2006, divorcing him four years later in 2010 after he had an affair. She remarried a French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014 in a secret ceremony, from whom she divorced in October 2016.
She first met her ten years younger Liam during his time on the talent show X Factor in 2008, where Cheryl was a judge. The couple made their relationship official this February after they were spotted shopping in Guildford, Surrey.
Liam has shared sweet moments of the couple on his Instagram account over the past months.
Cheryl, who has had hard time with love in the past, recently said in an interview that she is now “happier than ever”. We are still waiting for the couple to officially confirm the baby news, but it strongly seems that already another One Direction member is going to step into fatherhood. Congrats!
