Sheridan Smith pulls the plug on Variety following Father’s death

The 35 year old actress, renowned for her roles in hit comedy’s Gavin and Stacey and Benidorm as well as Bafta winning Mrs Biggs, has pulled out of her appearance in the Tuesday night Variety Performance following the recent death of her father.

Smith was set to perform alongside Sting and Robbie Williams, infront of an audience including the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.  A statement released by Smith’s team announced:

“Sheridan’s much loved father sadly passed away this week.

“We can confirm that she will not be performing at the Royal Variety Performance this Tuesday.”

The Royal Variety takes place on Tuesday the 6th December at the Royal Apollo Theatre and will be streamed live on ITV.
